What to bring to your bridal appointment

Wondering what to bring to your bridal appointment? Preparing ahead can help you feel confident and make the most of your experience. From the right undergarments to must-have accessories, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to bring for a smooth and stress-free dress shopping day!

What to bring:

  1. Nude underwear

As the dresses are light in colour and often have illusion (see-through) details, particularly at the back of the gown, we find that nude underwear will give you the best vision of the dress without dark underwear interfering with the look. Most of our gowns don’t actually need to be worn with a bra so you can also remove your bra during your appointment if you would like to as that can help you see how the dresses look and fit (don’t worry - we don’t see you undressed!).

  2. Shapewear

If you think you’d like to wear shapewear on your wedding day then you are more than welcome to wear it to your appointment. This way you can see how you would look and feel in dresses and get a great idea of how you will look on your big day. Shapewear can also be great if you love fitted dresses, particularly crepe fabric dresses, as they will give you the best support under your dress. This definitely isn’t essential, go with what you feel most comfortable in!

  3. Hair tie/hair clip

A handy hair clip is great for testing how an up-do would look with a gown so if you don’t know how you want to wear your hair just yet you can experiment with it up and down whilst wearing the dresses. If you know you are wearing your hair a certain way, it might be a good idea to wear your hair similarly to your appointment.

  4. Some initial dress ideas

While definitely not essential, a few initial ideas gives us a good starting point at your appointment. You can bring a list of your fave dresses or screenshot some dresses on our website that have caught your eye to give us an overall idea of the vibe you are going for. Although we may not have every dress on your list in your size, we can then use this to guide you on the dresses we have available that we think you might love.

  5. A few supportive and positive guests

We recommend bringing 1-3 guests that you know will support you and be honest, but also listen to what you are loving too. Remember - this is your day and how you feel in your dress is the one thing that will determine whether you’ve found your dress, so you need guests that will support you in your decisions. We have seating for up to 5 guests during each appointment.

What to avoid:

  1. Heavy makeup

Light makeup is totally fine, but too much makeup usually gets transferred to our dresses. If you keep makeup light this helps us keep our dresses in the best condition for you and our other brides. Hand gel & hand wipes are available to be used before and during your appointment and we encourage you to use them to keep our dresses pristine!

  2. Fake tan & body bronzers

Please don’t apply fake tan, body bronzing products & heavy lotions before your appointment to help keep our dresses stain-free as these marks are very hard to remove from bridal fabrics.

  3. Bracelets & jewellery

To avoid snagging the delicate fabrics of our dresses we recommend limiting or removing watches, bracelets, or fashion rings as jewellery on the wrists and hands is the first place the dresses can get caught.

  4. Heels

Heels aren’t necessary for your bridal appointment. Don’t worry about bringing your wedding day heels - our podium will help you visualise it & most brides find their shoes after they’ve found their dress.

Lastly, ensure you come with an open mind and enjoy your appointment - a positive mindset will help you have the best time and make lovely memories. We can’t wait to help you find your dream dress - message us here if you’ve got any questions at all about your appointment!
