How to store your wedding dress
A common question we get asked is how to store your wedding dress. This post covers everything you need to know to keep your dress in the best condition!
Before your wedding day
We recommend keeping your dress in a breathable bridal bag and we provide this for free for all of our brides. Ensure you keep it hung up in a high place such as in a tall wardrobe or on the back of a door and give it plenty of room so that it isn’t being squashed or folded. We would also recommend keeping it somewhere cool (room temperature), dark and dry to keep it in perfect condition. Avoid storing it in a plastic bag as the fabric needs to breathe.
Destination wedding
If you are getting married abroad you can buy specific bridal travel boxes that are hand luggage size to take on board & keep it safe with you. Fold the dress into the box, layering it with acid free tissue paper to ensure the fabric isn’t damaged and avoid snags.
After your wedding day
Keep your dress in a bridal storage box that is breathable and pH neutral and store it somewhere safe, clean & dry. Always store it away from anywhere cold, damp or hot and ensure any tissue paper used is acid free so that it doesn’t damage the fabric.
